Internal Medicine
Dr. Godigamuwa was born and raised in Sri Lanka and came to the U.S. in 2012. In her free time, she practices what she believes about a “healthy mind promotes a healthy body” – she enjoys doing yoga and meditation with her daughter (and encouraging her husband to join them). Dr. Godigamuwa also enjoys hiking with her family, traveling, and exploring different cultures and the food scene. Or, as she says, “just unwinding with a good cup of tea and a good movie after a long day!” Among her favorite area locales are Torchy’s Tacos, Round Rock Do-Nuts, Café Mozart, and the various hiking trails around the 360 greenbelt.
I can’t imagine doing anything other than primary care, as I enjoy providing continuity of care to my patients. Working together as a team, navigating my patients to make healthy decisions to improve their quality of life, is very rewarding to me. I believe that practicing medicine is more than simply trying to reach a diagnosis – it is crucial to treat the person, not merely the disease. I recognize that mental and physical health are the two sides that make a perfect coin! Each patient is unique, with their own individual goals. My goal is to incorporate preventive care, nutrition, and mindfulness in my practice.
