About
Angelyn (Angel) L. Tarrant, MD
-
Dr. Tarrant grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. When she is not working, Dr. Tarrant and her husband follow their daughter’s journey as an actress and award-winning visual artist, becoming involved with Zach Scott Theatre, McCallum Fine Arts Academy,, Austin Artist Project and other artistic organizations. The family loves to travel and also enjoys live music, Aggie home football games, and taking care of their fur-baby. As a longtime Austin resident, Dr. Tarrant’s favorite locations include Zach Scott Theatre, the ACL Music Festival, and Hyde Park Bar & Grill.
I always dreamed of being a doctor, and I knew without a doubt during medical school that I wanted to be a pediatrician. One special three-year-old boy with Down syndrome and leukemia sealed my future in pediatrics as the path I chose to make a difference in the lives of children like him. My approach as a pediatrician is simple – take the time to listen. Listening is the first step in forming a strong team with the parents and patient, creating an open line of communication to promote the health and well-being of the child. I listen, examine, and discuss findings and recommendations with the family so we, as a team, can determine what’s best for their child.
