About Zayd N. Nashaat, MD

  • Dr. Nashaat spent his early youth in East Lansing, Michigan, before his family returned to Iraq and lived in Baghdad. When he is not working, he enjoys playing with his two German shepherds, taking them on walks and trail adventures. Dr. Nashaat is an avid long-distance cyclist, riding whenever possible. He enjoys playing chess, salsa dancing, swimming, cooking, traveling, and exploring new places. Being relatively new to Central Texas, Dr. Nashaat looks forward to exploring the community.

Growing up, I wanted to become a police officer, but I chose a career in medicine in order to help people after my mother developed a severe illness. Then I witnessed first-hand how important it is to receive good and compassionate care, and the positive effect that could have on patients and their families in easing their tension and suffering during difficult illness. I believe all patients deserve equal care and respect regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, social status, or any other factors. We, as providers, owe it to the patients to provide them with all the information needed to the best of our capabilities, to help them be an active part in their healthcare decision-making. We should always function as partners.

Wow! He introduced himself! He also did an exam instead of simply asking me questions. He listened, gave suggestions and explained the next step of my treatment. He seemed interested. Two thumbs up!!

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the care you have provided. Your dedication, compassion, and expertise have made a big impact on my journey as a patient. 1. Inherited Challenges: When you inherited my case, I was already dealing with adverse and sentinel events. The medical trauma I had experienced left me feeling vulnerable and apprehensive. But, your approach was both reassuring and proactive. You took the time to understand my history, listen to my concerns, and address the lingering effects of those events. Your empathy and commitment to my well-being were evident from the start. I had little hope that my situation would improve with some not wanting to see me as you know. 2. Compassion and Support: The aftermath of adverse events can be emotionally draining, but your support made all the difference. You patiently explained each step of my plan, ensuring that I felt informed and empowered. Your willingness to answer my questions, no matter how small, helped alleviate my anxiety. I truly appreciate your compassionate approach. 3. Holistic Care: Beyond addressing the physical aspects of my health, you recognized the importance of holistic care. You considered not only my medical needs but also my emotional and mental well-being. Your referrals to specialists and care options were invaluable, and I felt like you were genuinely invested in my recovery. 4. Trust and Confidence: As a patient, trust in my healthcare provider is the most important factor . Your competence, thoroughness, and attention to detail inspired confidence that hey, maybe I will get better. I knew that I was in capable hands, and that trust allowed me to focus on healing. Your commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous learning further reinforced my confidence in your abilities. Every doctor that has helped me move forward and compassionate like yourself helped me trust in healthcare. You took your time with me and made information clear for me and included me, you didn't take over without me being involved. 5. Positive Outcomes: I along with my children cannot thank you enough. The adverse events no longer define my experience; instead, they serve as a testament to our collaborative efforts. You coordinate my care not knowing how challenging it can be for you all, but we're close to only seeing you once a year! Dr. Nashaat your dedication to my health has been instrumental in achieving positive outcomes, and I am grateful for the progress we've made together. Slow and steady You've turned challenging circumstances into opportunities for growth and healing. Thank you for being more than a healthcare provider. you are a partner with my family in my well-being.
