About Andrew M. Walters, MD

  • Dr. Walters only sees patients for same-day illness and injury visits at ARC clinics as needed. Patients should always follow up with their primary care physician (PCP).

Outside of work, Dr. Walters is an outdoorsman and sports enthusiast – he enjoys running, swimming, surfing, camping, golf, frisbee, basketball, baseball, football, and rooting for the Orioles, Commanders, and Terrapins. He also enjoys hanging out with his wife and 3 unruly children. His favorite local spot? 'Pinthouse Pizza!''

I practice Family Medicine because every day in clinic, I get to meet new people from all over the world. I get to hear their stories, meet their families, and help them heal. In some cases, I get to see them again and again, building trust and respect while forming meaningful relationships. To me, there is nothing more rewarding. My practice philosophy is best summarized in the words of William Osler:’ It is much more important to know what sort of patient has a disease than what sort of disease a patient has.

I'm very impressed and overall happy with the care I received. I had a breakthrough Migraine that put me into utter agony and when I called this morning for an appointment, one was readily available. I arrived early, and unlike most doctor's offices who run behind, this office was able to accommodate my early presence. I got right in. Once I was escorted back to a room, the time waiting for the doctor was minimal. He asked questions rather than holding up a superiority complex. It mattered to him what has worked and what hasn't. He genuinely listened to what I had to say. The best part that I walked away from this experience was he made me a part of the decision making process of what we were going to use to treat not just the migraine I had today, but moving forward. Together we were able to establish what it was that triggered this breakthrough Migraine and since I am relocating to that environment, he took my future comfort into considerations. As large as this center patient list is, it is utterly remarkable how you are still treated as a person and all of the things that effect you, they want to know about. I ended up having to have an injection in the booty, and let's just say, an infant has a higher pain tolerance than I do. When the nurse administered the injection, I'm not minimizing, I literally never felt a thing. I'm not typically a doctor oriented person. I pretty much am in tune with my body and how to naturally treat the issues that come up. But with the level of care I receive here, it lessens my hesitations on trusting doctor's. I have complete faith in their motives and abilities.
