About Akshay G. L. Yadhati, MD, FAAOS

  • Dr. Yadhati grew up in Syracuse, NY, and northern Delaware, and practiced in the northeast before moving to Austin. He says, "My wife and I chose to move from Rhode Island, where I had built long-standing relationships with many patients and community members, to Austin because the culture and values at ARC mirror what is most important in our own household — integrity, equal respect for all individuals, and commitment to continuous improvement." In his free time, between their busy careers, he and his wife love spending time with one another and their two small dogs, Monk and Guru. Both are "Huge foodies" and enjoy exploring new restaurants or trying new recipes at home. Dr. Yadhati and his wife have a long bucket list of cities to explore all around the globe, and try to cross a few off of the list whenever they can. Being new to Central Texas, they look forward to finding new adventures in the area.

As a high school student observing surgeries in an outpatient orthopedic surgery center, I fell in love with the idea of manipulating anatomy to make meaningful and durable improvements on someone's function and quality of life. Spine surgery then resonated with me because of the intricacy and immediate results of the procedures as well as the trust patients place in the hands of their surgeon. I was honored by an invitation to complete my orthopedic spine fellowship at one of the best spine programs in the world. As your surgeon — alongside my many colleagues across ARC's comprehensive and patient-first care ecosystem — I am committed to honoring your trust in me, and to helping you make the most informed decisions about your health and well-being. Whatever brings you to my door, you can count on me to help you understand your options, so you can get back to the things that matter in life — as quickly and as safely as possible.
