Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) doctors, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), staff, and leadership are committed to providing our community with high quality convenient care. One of the ways we demonstrate this priority is through our online transparency.
You can review our doctor and APC ratings and comments on our web site with the confidence that they are all based on verified visits. We post all patient feedback relevant to the entire visit and only refrain from posting comments that are libelous, profane, or those that risk the privacy of our patients.
The below guide provides details about how we collect and share our patient feedback.
ARC partnered with Press Ganey to collect patient feedback about their doctor’s or APC’s visit. We gather feedback from text surveys that are sent after the visit. Press Ganey is an independent third party customer feedback company that provides the technology to collect the feedback and display ratings and comments on our web site. All ratings are submitted by actual patients and verified by ARC.
Patients for whom we have a mobile phone number receive a text survey within two hours of checking in for their visit. Patients are asked to complete the survey and provide ratings and comments regarding their experience at different touch points of their visit. We use this feedback to recognize doctors and staff, identify issues we can correct, and enhance our care.
ARC posts all positive and negative patient feedback that is relevant to the entire visit. We refrain from posting comments that are libelous, profane, or those that risk the privacy of our patients.
ARC asks questions that touch on the overall patient experience related to their visit. Anyone seeking detailed information about each question can view the ratings for each specific question on the Reviews tab on the doctor or APC bio page on the website. We calculate our doctor and APC star ratings based on the responses to question number six below. We calculate our location star ratings based on the responses to all the below questions.
Since more recent data provides a more accurate picture, we require a minimum of 30 patient surveys per doctor in the last 12 months before we post a physician’s rating.
ARC physicians and staff review all comments and act to rectify issues. Since the purpose of the feedback is to allow us to improve the overall patient experience, we display the last 90 days of comments which are the most relevant for the practice.
No. Only patients having an outpatient visit by an ARC physician or APC receive a survey. The results are based entirely from patients who have actually been treated by the physician or APC in our clinics.
Comments are reviewed and approved prior to being published to the website. If a comment contains any personally identifiable information, that information will be removed from the comment.
Dr. LaFreniere grew up in Kansas City and moved to Austin for her residency. She says she "loved the heat and decided to never leave!" When she is not working, Dr. LaFreniere loves being outdoors and being active, including golf, gardening, and visiting local nurseries to add to her plant collection. She and her sister are also on a mission to hike/visit every state park in Texas. Dr. LaFreniere also enjoys having family and friends visit, reading and visiting libraries on her bucket list, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and K-State Wildcats! Among her favorite local spots are the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the Austin Central Public Library.
Our pediatric doctors and advanced practice clinicians (APCs) work closely with our dedicated ARC specialists who see children to coordinate your child's care. All ARC clinicians can access your child's health records directly without delay, resulting in more convenient and timely quality care for you and your child. Together, we emphasize prevention, evidence-based treatment, comprehensive care, and building long-term relationships.
In 4th grade, I took a summer school science class, and from then on, I wanted to be a doctor. I worked with and volunteered in child-focused activities, so I chose pediatrics, and it was the best choice! Every day, I love working with my patients and their grown-ups, and teaching them about their bodies and health. I believe the best care for a child is evidenced-based and team-based, with the patient, grown-up, and pediatrician as a team. Building relationships is one of the best parts of pediatrics, so I hope my patients see me as someone they trust, so when they grow into teenagers, they have an additional adult to turn to during the rocky moments.

Great visit. Doctor very thorough. Thank you.
really loved her Doctor today and appreciated that she asked questions that were very specific about her period and acne and other things that she hadn't been asked before. She loves her regular doctor, and was nervous about having another doctor this time, but had a really good experience!
Dr Lafreniere is so thorough and warm! Visits never feel rushed. She provides really great practical advice
Great as always!
Dr. L was awesome. Very thorough and addressed our questions and more
Dr Lafernier was extremely kind and took her time to explain what to expect with my daughter in the upcoming year, and talk directly to her with respect. My daughter left the appointment feeling very comfortable and excited to see her again next year.
ARC is pleased to announce that Jeanette M. LaFreniere, MD, Pediatrics, has joined the team at ARC Southwest. Find out why Dr. LaFreniere thinks messy is good!
