About Sangeetha Mariappan, MD, MPH

  • Dr. Mariappan grew up in the metropolitan city of Chennai, India, and moved to the U.S. to complete her education. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, cooking, and doing Yoga. Among her favorite area spots are the Lady Bird Lake walking trail, Emma Long Park, and Hamilton Pool.

Service to humanity has been my childhood dream, and thus, I embarked on the medical profession years ago. My interests in personal, comprehensive, and continuing care for the individual and the community, disease prevention, and preventive medicine led me to choose a career in Family Medicine. I believe in working with the family and addressing the whole patient, influencing the well-being of the patient through active participation with them. I reach out to patients, immersing myself in understanding them in the context of their family and community, to achieve the best health outcome.

Liked the quick checkin and the low wait time to get initial basic testing like height, weight etc and the low wait time in the room to be seen by the doctor. Overall very pleasant experience in ARC…

I tried to ask questions during the appointment, but it was difficult to continue the conversation because there was very little response or interaction from the doctor. It felt like my concerns were not fully addressed before the conversation moved on to the next topic. I would have appreciated more engagement, explanation, and opportunity to discuss my questions.
