About Alinda R. Cox, MD

  • Dr. Cox’s passion is to go on medical mission trips. She has been to Ghana, India, the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Haiti, providing medical care to those underdeveloped countries, and believes that those who have privilege should help those who are underprivileged. Dr. Cox enjoys staying physically fit, and says, “my sport is basketball!”

I chose medicine, particularly Ob/Gyn, because I enjoy interacting with people and their families. I love the science of diagnosing a problem and ultimately helping cure a disease. In no other specialty are two lives being taken care of at one time. I thoroughly enjoy this challenge.

Quick, clear communication, supportive staff, Dr made me feel comfortable

  • June 22, 2024

Prior to the appointment I messaged Dr. cox through the patient portal after speaking with someone on the phone to see about adjusting my appointment so that I could get my iud replaced same day and minimize time off work. Someone initially replied and told me I should keep the appointment as is and I replied stating my concerns about having to miss work for multiple appointments unnecessarily and advising that I was told all could potentially be done in one appointment when I called ARC to reschedule the originally booked appointment; A nurse replied to that second message and said it would be up to the doctor?s discretion that day and then turned off my ability to reply. When I got to the appointment today I was told the iud wasn't available and would have to be ordered. I became upset and cried as I can't afford to risk pregnancy nor take unnecessary time off work. Dr. Coz, her MA and the benefits department found an IUD for me and I was able to have it placed that day. 10/10 above and beyond I am so grateful While i understand the nurses don't want to go back and forth with patients prior to appointments unnecessarily I wish that I would've been given the opportunity to reply or speak with someone who could've helped me adjust the appointment ahead of time so that I didn't become discombobulated in the moment and so the IUD could've been ordered and ready and the provider wouldn't have had to scramble to help, although I'm eternally grateful she did. 10/10 Dr. cox and MA. This was my second appointment with Dr. cox and I've been thoroughly impressed with her steady bedside manner both times.
