About Carla J. Thompson, MD, FAAP

  • If you have received a letter from UnitedHealthcare (UHC) stating that Carla J. Thompson, MD, FAAP, is out-of-network, please be informed that refers to her former practice. Carla J. Thompson, MD, FAAP, remains in-network, and you may continue to see her without any changes to your coverage.

Dr. Thompson grew up in Arlington, TX, and has been practicing pediatrics in Austin since 2010. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. They keep her busy with their many sports and activities. She also enjoys walking, reading, cooking, and gardening. Her favorite family memories are made traveling with her family and spending time on the lakes and trails around Austin.

I was fascinated at a very early age by my aunt’s stories of her career in the newborn nursery, and I never looked back! I believe that listening is the greatest skill in a pediatrician’s tool belt, and I find joy in walking alongside parents through the journey of parenthood.
