About Durreshahwar K. Khan, MD

  • Dr. Khan currently has long wait times for new patients. Please see below for physicians she recommends to new patients wanting to transfer or establish care at ARC.

If Dr. Khan is your primary care physician, please book your appointment via your ARC MyChart account or call 512-ARC-INFO (512-272-4636).

Dr. Khan grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, a “wonderful coastal, cosmopolitan city with great culture, food, and beauty!” In her free time, Dr. Khan enjoys playing with her daughter, reading, taking nature walks with her family, and “food!” Her favorite local spot is Lady Bird Lake and the park – she says it’s a great spot to relax, rewind, and enjoy nature and the city around it. Fun fact – Dr. Khan enjoys elocution and debated twice (won once) at the national level, at the All Pakistan Annual English Debate!

When I was in school, I wanted to be an astronaut! But later in life, things changed for me … I came across a wonderful Biology professor who made me re-think my career choices. I was really drawn toward human physiology and pathology; hence, medicine became my obvious choice. I believe in a holistic approach, treating not just the problem. The human body is a miraculous machine, and we have to look at the entire machine and take care of all of it. I am a strong proponent of preventive medicine and believe that we have miles to go with this approach.

She was thorough, answered my questions, and provided an effective treatment. A bit of grace would go a long way though...

  • December 11, 2024

    Quick, easy and professional.

  • December 10, 2024

I love Dr. Khan. She takes her time and discusses my health concerns to make sure I understand my treatment and options.

  • December 9, 2024

Dr Khan confirmed the steps I had already taken to mitigate my problem. Plus she suggested I also try an additional over-the-counter product to add to my data regimen.

  • December 6, 2024

Everyone except the doctor was professional and helpful. Dr. Khan’s demeanor is not a good match for me. It felt like I was wasting her time by being there and she did not care at all about my concerns.

  • December 5, 2024

The doctor listened carefully to my symptoms, discussed her diagnostic impressions and reasoning, and ordered all the necessary tests to rule out other conditions. She also prescribed the needed medications. Very satisfied.
