Protect yourself from phishing and scams

When ARC sends you an email or text it comes from one of our secure email addresses ending with austinregionalclinic.com or an SMS code (phone number or shorter number) listed at ARCmessages.com. Scammers may try to trick patients by using the MyChart name or logo when phishing for personal information. If you see a text or email promising free gifts or asking for extensive personal information, you should not proceed – Do not click any links or buttons. See below for some tips on what to do next.

How to protect yourself:

• Check the sender: The email address must end with austinregionalclinic.com and the text must come from one of the SMS codes listed at ARCmessages.com.
• Check the link web address (URL). Links to Austin Regional Clinic’s MyChart must go to mychart.austinregionalclinic.com.
• Be skeptical of "free" offers. Some messages promise free gifts or prizes, such as a free Medicare kit in exchange for your info. These are scams.
• Never share your password and verification codes. We will never ask for your password or verification codes by phone, text, or email. The only safe place to enter them is the MyChart website or app.

If you think you received a scam email:

• Do not click any links, buttons, or enter any information.
• Report the email as spam in your inbox.
• If you clicked a link, reset your ARC MyChart password.
• Review your contact information in your MyChart.
• Call ARC MyChart Support at 512-272-4357 (512-ARC-HELP).
