Planning to become pregnant
Proper health before deciding to become pregnant is almost as important as maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy. For example, you may begin taking a prenatal vitamin daily, prescribed by your Ob/Gyn physician or advanced practice clinician (APC), to make certain that your body gets the necessary nutrients and vitamins needed to nourish a healthy baby.
We recommend you begin with a pre-pregnancy exam with an Ob/Gyn physician or APC. ARC has Ob/Gyn doctors and APCs in multiple clinics throughout Central Texas.
Taking care of your and your baby’s health
The first few weeks of pregnancy are crucial in a child's development, so taking care of yourself before becoming pregnant is the best thing you can do for you and your baby.
One tool we recommend is the Babyscripts app. This app enables you to track your health and access the information you need for maternity care. All our Babyscripts material is carefully reviewed by your ARC Ob/Gyn or APC and can be accessed using your phone to answer your questions. Visit the Babyscripts website for more information.
