When he is not working, Dr. Gutierrez-Macias’ priority is spending time with his wife and three children. He also loves to play the piano, and reads books “because I am a perpetual learner.” He enjoys Central Texas with its opportunities for recreation, art, and music.

I chose medicine as an opportunity to integrate service, science and humanism to benefit the people who are in need of health care. I listen to and involve my patients in their health care, providing them with the tools to make their own health choices. The more involved my patients are in their care, the better the outcome.
