Genio® Sleep Apnea Therapy
What is Genio® sleep apnea therapy?
Genio® is a mask-free sleep apnea therapy system for adults with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The Genio® therapy system uses a surgically inserted, battery-free implant to gently stimulate the hypoglossal nerves and move the tongue forward while you sleep — allowing more consistent and unobstructed breathing without the need for a CPAP machine.
Comprehensive evaluations for obstructive sleep apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a sleep disorder that can cause you to stop breathing for short periods of time while you sleep. A diagnostic home sleep study or in-lab sleep study can help identify the root cause of your symptoms and determine if Genio® is the best treatment option for you. If possible, your care team will recommend a plan that can help alleviate your symptoms and restore sleep without the need for surgical intervention.

How does Genio® sleep apnea therapy work?
Genio® is a two-part therapy system that consists of:
- A battery-free stimulator that is implanted beneath the chin through a minimally invasive outpatient procedure.
- A sleep wearable that includes a chargeable activation chip and disposable patch that is used to power the implanted stimulator.
Once the implant has healed, the Genio® therapy system is activated and can be tracked and adjusted using an optional smartphone application. The sleep wearable is then worn under the chin area to deliver nerve stimulation while you sleep and is later removed when you wake up.
Is Genio® covered by insurance?
Insurance benefits vary by health plan. We recommend you contact your health plan provider for benefits confirmation.
