Austin Regional Clinic Closes ARC Medical Park Tower Ob/Gyn

October 31, 2018 - Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) closes one of its oldest clinics, ARC Medical Park Tower Ob/Gyn, on Wednesday, October 31.

The clinic, located at 1301 W. 38th St., Suite 205, opened in 1982 as the first ARC Ob/Gyn clinic and one of the first ARC locations. ARC Medical Park Tower (MPT) Ob/Gyn has served thousands of Austin-area women in its 36-year-history, including multiple generations of patients, for all their obstetric and gynecological needs.

Five of the six Ob/Gyn providers (Drs. Robert Cosentino, Romy Ghosh, Kristen Hansen-Peterman, Bernard Lynch, and Rosa Moreno) will practice at other ARC Ob/Gyn locations, including ARC South OB, ARC Cedar Park Medical Plaza, ARC Seton Northwest, ARC Nurture North Ob/Gyn, and ARC Kyle Plum Creek. Paul Bushart, MD, will transition to a Laborist at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. All ARC MPT Ob/Gyn staff are also relocating to other Ob/Gyn locations.

"Closing the clinic is bittersweet for all of us," said Dr. Diane Brinkman, who was the first Ob/Gyn physician at ARC and at MPT Ob/Gyn, and who serves as Chief of the ARC Ob/Gyn Department, "as many of the providers and staff have a very long history with this clinic."

ARC Chief Operating Officer Laura Wills, Ph.D., added, "We recognize the demand for Ob/Gyn services in Central Austin has slowed, as more families move out to the edges of Austin or the neighboring cities like Cedar Park and Kyle. This was the right decision at the right time, and all of our MPT providers and staff look forward to serving current and new patients at their new locations."
