ARC Senior Care officially opens with a festive ribbon cutting

ARC celebrated the opening of ARC Senior Care in Pflugerville, ARC's first geriatric clinic, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce.

The 3,200-square-foot clinic, which opened April 3, is ARC's third clinic in Pflugerville and 34th clinic in Central Texas. ARC Senior Care focuses on coordinated primary care for 55 and older Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients with multiple chronic conditions. Located at 15803 Windermere Drive, Suite 102, the new clinic is adjacent to ARC Pflugerville in the same center.

Cathy Anne Castillo, MD, Family Medicine, relocated from ARC Hutto to lead the ARC Senior Care team. She will be joined by a geriatric nurse practitioner in May and a geriatrician in July.

Meeting the needs of older patients

"This clinic began more than two years ago with a conversation with Dr. Cathy Castillo, ARC Family Medicine Physician. She wanted to dedicate her career to providing care to Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients with more complex conditions," said Dr. Anas Daghestani, ARC President and CEO. "That conversation — in collaboration with agilon health, our partner for Medicare Advantage programs — became ARC Senior Care, our first geriatric clinic. We look forward to growing this team and serving this community."

A community-filled celebration

The public ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, April 27. Dr. Daghestani was joined by Dr. Norman Chenven, ARC Founding CEO; Dr. Manish Naik, ARC Chief Medical Officer; Ted Matthews, ARC Chief Financial Officer; Dr. Castillo; Holly Zuga, ARC Senior Care Clinic Manager, and other ARC leadership and management.

We were honored by the many representatives from the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce, the City of Pflugerville, and businesses who attended, including:

  • Rudy Metayer, Pflugerville City Council, Place 4
  • Kristen Cepak, Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce President and CEO
  • Carrie McGuire, Pflugerville Chamber Member Services Representative
  • Lindsay Howell, Pflugerville Chamber Event Coordinator
  • Zurmana Tarannum, Pflugerville Chamber Board of Directors
  • Crystal Connolly, Pflugerville Community Development Corporation and Pflugerville Chamber Board of Directors

We were also joined by several partners who worked with ARC to help bring this clinic to life, including agilon health, The Lawrence Group, architects; Austin Canyon Corporation, contractors; KPG Commercial, real estate; and Moontower Signage & Branding.

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed visiting over coffee from Nearby Coffee with tacos provided by their sister company Lamppost Coffee.
