Local health departments have not recommended additional vaccination beyond current guidelines. Texas health officials urge immunization to protect against and prevent the spread of measles. Pertussis - Local update

Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is circulating in our area. The best thing you can do to guard your health against pertussis is check that you are up to date on your Tdap or DTap vaccines. If you suspect you may have contracted pertussis or came into contact with someone who was diagnosed, you should schedule an appointment with your primary care doctor or advanced practice clinician (APC). ARC welcomes Andie E. Keller, PA-C

We are happy to welcome Andie E. Keller, PA-C, to the Dermatology team at ARC Southwest in Austin.

"Preventive medicine and patient education are of utmost importance, in all fields of medicine but especially dermatology," says Andie. "I value any extra time I can spend with patients creating a collaborative, informed treatment plan."

Protect to prevent

"We always want to protect your skin's DNA by preventing burns with photo-protective clothing, sunscreen with SPF over 30, or ideally a combination of the two," says Andie. "Not only does this help protect against skin cancer, but also against sun related aging."

In her free time, Andie says she enjoys, "Playing tennis, finding new coffee spots, collecting rocks, and playing with my cat Porsche."
