NormanMD, a 24/7 virtual urgent care platform powered by ARC doctors and advanced practice clinicians (APCs), has some exciting updates for individual subscribers and members benefiting from NormanMD through their employer or health insurance. Users can now download the latest version of the mobile app in the App Store or Google Play Store.
App functionality and navigation remain the same, with a few new features to help you start your visit and adjust your account settings. Your visit history, family users, medical info, and account settings are still accessible at the bottom of your app window, as seen in previous versions of the app.
Just like before, each visit begins in a chat window where users can start messaging right away. A doctor or APC typically responds within a few minutes, and users can continue to send messages, share photos, and request to speak with the doctor or APC through audio or video call.
New features on the NormanMD app:
- Updated welcome page. When you open your NormanMD app to start a new visit, you will immediately see an overview of account details like account status, subscription type, and account holder. If you have a family plan, you will also see a list of your family's patient profiles and can add additional profiles.
- Select a patient profile before starting a visit (for family plan members). To start a visit, you can now select yourself or another family member's profile as a patient.
- Confirmation of your contact number for the visit. After confirming your patient profile, you can also confirm your phone number for this visit. This will ensure that any follow-up communications during or after your visit are sent to the right contact number. You can also use the same number listed in your profile.
- Video and audio visits on Doximity. If you choose to request an audio or video call, let your doctor or APC know in the chat. Your doctor or APC will then connect with you through Doximity, via the link you receive via SMS/text message.
- Update account access or change your plan on the web. If you would like to update your account access or change your plan, the app will direct you to log in and make changes in your browser, at care.normanmd.com.
