ARC Welcomes COO Garry M. Olney

July 6, 2010 – ARC welcomes Garry M. Olney as our new Chief Operating Officer. His responsibilities include clinic operations and ancillary services, strategic planning, and participation in establishing policy, strategy, and direction for Austin Regional Clinic healthcare services.

Garry comes to us from the Tenet Healthcare Corporation in Dallas, TX, where he was Corporate Vice-President of Patient Care Services, overseeing clinical and service programs. Prior to his role as Corporate Vice President at Tenet, he was the Corporate Senior Director of Operations for the company. Garry served as Chief Executive Officer of Whittier Hospital Medical Center in Whittier, CA, before he joined Tenet. He has served in senior leadership roles in health care for over 20 years.

Garry holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the Medical College of Ohio at The University of Toledo, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the Texas Hospital Association, the American Organization of Health Care Executives, the American Hospital Association and the Federation of American Hospitals. Garry is also an expert panel member for Healthcare staffing performance for the Joint Commission (formerly the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations).
