Sharon F. Liu, DO, Chief of ARC Internal Medicine, has been nominated to join the Female Physician Leadership Council, created by agilon health, as a founding member.

The Council was established by agilon health to expand and develop female leadership within the agilon partnership practice network and the next generation of female physicians who deliver top quality value-based care within their communities. The Council will help recognize and address the opportunities, gaps, and challenges currently impacting female primary care providers, ensuring they are supported and have a voice in their professional growth and success, to strengthen health care overall.

The Female Physician Leadership Council includes physicians from all organizations currently in the agilon health partnership network. Dr. Liu, a practicing internal medicine physician at ARC South 1st in Austin, joined ARC in 2012. In addition to her practice and serving as a department chief, Dr. Liu is a member of the Travis County Medical Society Board of Ethics, and has been named a Top Doctor in 2021 and 2022 by Austin Monthly magazine.

"With 57% of ARC physicians being female, and women in leadership positions on our Executive Board, in clinical leadership, in our administration, and in our clinical operations, ARC is fully supportive of this new initiative," said Anas Daghestani, MD, ARC CEO. "We know Dr. Liu, as one of those leaders, will be a valuable addition to the Female Physician Leadership Council."

ARC has partnered since 2017 with agilon health, a company dedicated to transforming health care for seniors by investing in resources and clinical programs to further empower physicians to focus on the entire health of their senior patients.
