On September 28, ARC mammograms, currently offered at ARC South 1st (3828 South 1st Street), relocated just across the parking lot to ARC South 1st Pediatrics (3816 South 1st Street).
Mammography services are located on the first floor of ARC South 1st Pediatrics, while pediatric care remains on the second floor. With more available space, the move to ARC South 1st Pediatrics is expected to improve access for patients undergoing screening for breast cancer.
You can now access a range of specialized care at our centralized South Medical Campus, which brings together ARC South 1st Pediatrics and ARC South 1st, as well as the new ARC South Specialty and ARC Surgery Center South.
Comprehensive, convenient breast care
3D mammography is the latest FDA-approved screening and diagnostic tool designed for early breast cancer detection. Advanced technology captures multiple images, providing clinicians with exceptionally sharp, clearer views of the breast. Routine mammograms can spot abnormal breast tissue or tumors before symptoms appear, according to the National Cancer Institute.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends starting mammograms at age 40, with screening occurring every one to two years. After age 75, you should talk to your ARC clinician to decide whether continuing routine screenings is still the right choice for you.
ARC conducts screening mammograms for asymptomatic patients. If you are experiencing symptoms, such as pain, a lump, discharge, or skin changes in your breast, contact your clinician to obtain a diagnostic order for extended imaging.
