Make small, but incremental changes

Gastroenterologist Enrique Spindel, MD at ARC Northwest Hills Specialty in Austin

We are pleased to announce that Enrique Spindel, MD, Gastroenterology, has joined the team at ARC Northwest Hills Specialty.

Of his desire to become a physician, Dr. Spindel says, "I had two uncles who were doctors, and they were great role models. Since I was a child, I wanted to be like them and become a doctor."

He elaborates, saying, "I am fascinated by the function and intricacy of the design of the human body. I also appreciate the individuality of each being as a separate and unique person with special attributes." Dr. Spindel continues, "I am privileged to see each encounter with patients as an opportunity to make a difference and see a vignette of a life."

Be kind to yourself

"Sometimes healthy habits are difficult to achieve. Make small but incremental changes. Be kind to yourself," advises Dr. Spindel when giving health advice. "If you don't exercise, start with just a few minutes a day, but be persistent. Same with choosing a healthy diet. Change the direction by just a few degrees. Gradually you'll be surprised of what you can achieve."

In his free time, Dr. Spindel enjoys, "Swimming laps at the YMCA, walking around Lady Bird Lake, spending time with family, and volunteering."

Welcome to Austin Regional Clinic, Dr. Spindel!
