While Texas Department of State Health Services announced that we are in the next phase of vaccinations, ARC has a limited supply of the vaccine and is prioritizing people at highest risk per the Texas DSHS prioritization guidelines. (Group 1A) (Click here for the prioritization list.)
Below is an outline of ARC's current process for community vaccinations based on guidelines from the Texas DSHS and Austin Public Health.
ARC is currently administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at most ARC locations.
ARC Vaccine Process:
- Anyone in the community may visit ARC COVID-19 Care to see if they are eligible to request a shot. Per the current guidelines, ARC is accepting vaccination requests from persons in Group 1A. The questionnaire at ARC COVID-19 Care directs new and established patients to the best online scheduling option.
Group 1A: healthcare workers, first responders, and residents of long-term care facilities
- ARC patients in Group 1B will be contacted to book an online appointment once ARC starts vaccinating persons in that group. Non-ARC patients in Group 1B can fill out a form at ARC COVID-19 Care to get a notification when the vaccine is available and to get instructions on how to book an appointment online.
Group 1B: persons 65+ years old or persons 16+ years old with at least one chronic medical condition
- ARC phone lines are currently overloaded with people calling about the vaccine. The online tools were created to make it quicker and easier for patients to access appointments for vaccines. Patients who call can expect long hold times, 30-40 minutes, especially in the morning
