Shoe fit is important to safety in sports
"Shoe gear should be treated like any other piece of sporting equipment: wearing appropriate and proper fitting shoe gear for activity is imperative to avoid injury," says Dr. Yancovitz. To that end, she offers this advice, "A podiatrist can both evaluate proper shoe fit and provide recommendations if needed."
In her free time, Dr. Yancovitz says, "I am typically spending time with my husband, traveling, or cooking. I enjoy spending time outdoors — I love to ride my bicycle, hike, and swim."
