ARC Names New CEO, Anas Daghestani

AUSTIN, TX – August 1, 2016. Anas Daghestani, MD, has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Austin Regional Clinic (ARC). Dr. Daghestani succeeds Norman H. Chenven, MD, who has held the title since 1980, when he founded the organization.

Dr. Daghestani joined ARC in January, 2005, as an Internal Medicine physician, and serves as Chief of the ARC Internal Medicine Department. In addition, Dr. Daghestani serves as Medical Director, ARC Population Health and Clinical Quality, Chairman of the ARC Clinical Quality Committee, and President of the ARC Executive Board. He is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the American College of Physicians, and has received the Patients' Choice Award from vitals.com from 2008-2012.

Dr. Daghestani received his medical degree from the University of Damascus, Syria, and completed his internship and residency at the University of Illinois, Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. He received additional training at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He continues his practice at ARC Far West.

Dr. Chenven continues in his role as ARC Founding CEO and President & CEO of Covenant Management Systems (CMS), an Austin-based third party administrator and medical management organization. In addition, Dr. Chenven serves as President of Austin Regional Independent Associates (ARIA), a local independent practice association that develops and provides physician networks for partially self-insured ERISA plans.

Dr. Chenven currently serves as a member of the Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas and American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association, and has held board positions in many organizations. He is also the recipient of numerous awards, including Travis County Medical Society 2016 Physician of the Year.
