This year, Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) celebrates 45 years of serving patients in the growing Central Texas community. During our 45 years, we have grown from one clinic with three primary care physicians in Central Austin, to 35 clinics in 15 Central Texas cities, including both primary and specialty care. We provide health care for about one in every four individuals throughout the region, including generations of families.
Convenience and communication to keep you healthy and engaged
ARC guides you throughout your care journey—from the moment you search for medical care, through your diagnosis and treatment, and during your ongoing follow-up care.
As an ARC patient, you have most likely:
- Visited our website or ARC MyChart to search for information or book an appointment.
- Received reminders for annual checkups, cancer screenings, vaccinations, and other healthcare services.
- Visited multiple ARC medical specialists or received care for specific health issues such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS), or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
- Completed lab tests or imaging exams at one of our on-site lab or radiology departments.
- Contacted our 24/7/365 phone nurse line or NormanMD virtual urgent care service to get immediate medical advice.
All along your care journey, we make it a point to keep you engaged so that you can make the best decisions about you and your family's medical needs.
Growing in step with our community
As the Austin area expands and grows, so does ARC. Here is where you can expect us to grow in the next couple of years:
- Two ARC specialty clinics with on-site outpatient surgery centers will open between 2025 and 2026. The first opens in Round Rock, and the second in South Austin.
- MRI and CT scan radiology services will be available in at least two ARC daytime and After Hours Clinics over the next few years.
- ARC Lockhart will open in 2026.
As we grow into new communities and expand on services in the communities we serve, we stay focused on quality, convenience, and ease of access.
New technologies and discoveries delivered directly to Central Texans
Improving efficiency while maintaining a close doctor-patient relationship and high-quality care drives ARC to explore new technologies and methods for providing health care.
- Almost 90% of patients use an ARC MyChart account.
- Automated lab and AI-generated summaries allow us to give 82% of all labs results back to you within 24 hours.
- Doctors and advanced practice clinicians (APCs) who use ARC's ambient dictation and documentation solution are spending more time face to face with you during office visits.
- In the last 10 years, ARC Clinical Research has conducted over 50 clinical research studies, providing Central Texans just like you with access to effective new medical discoveries for arthritis, diabetes, endometriosis, hot flashes, lupus, and more.
Our heart is our people
Many clinicians and staff have dedicated their careers to ARC with over 25 years of service, and new team members continuously choose to join us. For both new and longtime team members, ARC fosters development at every level of the organization. We support and provide opportunities for learning and growth through tuition reimbursement programs, leadership training, and on-site classes. Annual feedback from everyone at ARC earns us recognition each year as a Top Workplace in Austin, in health care, and in the United States!
Since our founding in 1980 by Norman Chenven, MD, Family Physician, ARC's goal has been to provide affordable and connected healthcare to Austin and Central Texas. Today and beyond, we look forward to the future expansion of clinics, services, and specialties to continue meeting the healthcare needs of our Central Texas community.
