ARC Pediatrics Breastfeeding Success

Find Your Breastfeeding Success

Sometimes choosing to breastfeed is the easy part. It’s not always easy for new parents to get the hang of breastfeeding. A lactation consultant can help.

If you choose to breastfeed, your ARC pediatrician, ob/gyn, and care team can provide advice and recommendations. We also partner with Breastfeeding Success (BFS) to help new parents reach their breastfeeding goals with specialized educational materials, classes, and visits with a lactation consultant, as needed. BFS is a local group of board-certified lactation consultants, NICU registered dietitians, and childbirth educators. Your pediatrician or ob/gyn can refer you to the services you need.

Breastfeeding Success support is available to ARC patients 24/7 - call 512-808-0237 to get started.

Integrated lactation care for new parents

Breastfeeding Success offers holistic lactation care before birth and beyond. At every stage of the parent journey, you will be supported by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) who provide evidence-based breastfeeding medicine attuned to your unique needs.

Our physician-supervised services are seamlessly integrated with ARC primary care providers to reach shared goals: to ensure that each baby is getting the best nutrition possible, and to empower families to find their success.

What’s an IBCLC?

Breastfeeding Success is a team of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs). IBCLCs are certified by an internationally-recognized board examination to meet rigorous professional standards and demonstrate specialized skills in the clinical management of breastfeeding and human lactation.

How does it work?

No matter what your ultimate relationship with breastfeeding may be, integrated lactation care makes it easy to find your way. We teach breastfeeding skills before birth so new parents are fully prepared for their new arrival.

When a baby is born at one of the many hospitals we serve, BFS lactation consultants will see families during their stay and coordinate with ARC pediatricians to support breastfeeding goals.

In-clinic lactation care is now available at ARC Center Street in Kyle, at multiple clinic locations, via telemedicine visits, and through in-home visits if needed.

What is a lactation consultation?

IBCLCs (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants) are healthcare providers trained in the clinical management of lactation. The goal of a lactation consultation is to ensure that each baby is getting the best nutrition possible, and to empower families and their healthcare providers with information and tools to find success.
