COVID-19 Testing

You can easily schedule your COVID-19 test online. Please answer the following questions so we can direct your care accordingly:

IS THIS URGENT?
Is the patient experiencing any of these symptoms:

  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Stroke symptoms (sudden weakness, loss of vision, loss of balance, or severe headache)
  • Loss of consciousness

Has the patient seen an ARC physician or APC in the last three years?

Is the patient currently on a Medicare Advantage Plan?

Is the patient experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath or other flu-like symptoms now or in the last 72 hours?

Based on your answers, we strongly recommend that you be evaluated by a physician or advanced practice clinician (APC).

Choose [ARC In-Clinic] or [ARC Video Visit] to schedule a same-day or next-day visit covered by most insurance plans. A visit is required before a physician or APC can provide a prescription to treat a positive COVID-19 test. We can only offer video visits if you are in Texas at the time of the visit.

Choose [Testing Only - COVID-19] to get a COVID-19 test without being evaluated first.

Choose [Talk to a Doctor Now] to bypass scheduling and redirect to ARC's on-demand virtual urgent care service, NormanMD. This may be a covered benefit or a fee-based option depending on your employer or health plan benefits.

Is the patient retesting after a recent positive COVID-19 test to end their quarantine?

Your answer suggests that you can book a Direct COVID-19 Test offered only at a select group of ARC clinics.

Choose [Testing Only - COVID-19] below to skip a visit with a physician or advanced practice clinician (APC) and go directly to an ARC Direct COVID-19 Test location. If you are having symptoms, it is strongly recommended that you be evaluated by a physician or APC before testing. A visit with a physician or APC is required to prescribe medication for treatment.

Choose [ARC In-Clinic] or [ARC Video Visit] to schedule a same-day or next-day visit covered by most insurance plans.

Choose [Talk to a Doctor Now] to bypass scheduling and get directed to on-demand virtual urgent care for a low one-time or monthly fee, via the NormanMD webportal or app.

COVID-19 TEST COVERAGE & COST:

Most health insurance plans cover costs for tests, however copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and certain exclusions may apply, like testing for travel. If the patient does not have health insurance, there is no longer government aid so they will be charged a fee. ARC offers a 25% discount if payment is made at the time of service. The costs for COVID-19 tests is $104 ($78 w/ discount).

In compliance with governing rules and regulations, Austin Regional Clinic physicians can only prescribe for and treat patients currently located within the state of Texas at the time of service. So, we must ask:
"Are y'all in Texas during this video visit?"

Is the patient under 18?

For the safety of all our patients, ARC physicians strongly recommend children stay up-to-date on all childhood vaccines.
