We are happy to announce that Yasir Al-Abboodi, MD, Gastroenterology, has joined the team at ARC Northwest Hills Specialty. ARC Gastroenterologists specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of issues in the digestive system, or gastrointestinal tract (GI). They work with your primary doctor to provide consultation, evaluation, and treatment for a wide variety of digestive conditions.
"I chose the path of medicine as I always look for an opportunity to help people and there is no better way to help someone than make them healthier," says Dr. Al-Abboodi. "I chose gastroenterology as my specialty as it gives me a wide scope of practice including procedural skills, short- and long-term patient doctor relationship. In addition, I have a surgical background and I feel that gastroenterology is strongly related to other surgical specialties."
Making the right call for his patients
"I have a simple, yet practical approach," says Dr. Al-Abboodi of his practice of medicine. "I always think that the patient I am talking to today is my family member (my dad, mom, or sister). This approach has always helped me to make the right call for my patient through my entire medical career."
Dr. Al-Abboodi offers this advice to all his patients, "No better health tip I can provide than eating healthier items in a moderate amount."
In his free time, Dr. Al-Abboodi says, "I try my best to keep a healthy balance between work and my personal life. I always try to make it to the gym when it's not busy."
