We are pleased to announce Miriam U. Nnabuihe, APRN, FNP-C, has joined the Family Medicine team at ARC Round Rock. "I am particularly interested in integrative health and how the physical health is influenced by other factors such as spiritual and social circumstances. I incorporate this interest into my healthcare approach," says Miriam.
The mind/body connection to health
"There is a connection between the mind and body (particularly the gut) so often if one is anxious or depressed, he/she may experience some bowel symptoms. I encourage meditation and a diet that is rich in omega-3 as these have shown significant improvement in health by reducing chronic inflammation that can lead to obesity, hypertension, and even diabetes," says Miriam.
In her free time Miriam says, "I enjoy relaxing, but I spend a lot of my time cooking for my family."
