About Lee R. Dockray, MD, FAAP

  • Dr. Dockray grew up in El Paso, TX and Alamogordo, New Mexico. When he’s not working, he enjoys doing his own yard work, and soon, getting back to playing the piano. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their three daughters, all of whom live in Austin, and trying to keep up with their four grandsons and one granddaughter! Dr. Dockray’s favorite Central Texas locales are the areas around Fredericksburg and Comfort, where they have close friends.

I remember wanting to be a doctor since elementary school, as I was the oldest of four children and played an important role in caring for my siblings. My job as a pediatrician is to help guide parents through the maze of raising happy, healthy well-adjusted children who live up to their maximum potential. My approach is that children are well until proven otherwise. I identify the problems that exist so they can be treated, but I am careful not to intervene more than necessary. Like everything in life, balance is important.

This is the first time we have seen this doctor, and he was friendly, efficient, patient, and helpful. My daughter is pretty scared of doctors, but she wasn’t intimidated at all. It was great!

  • January 20, 2023

Helpful and thorough. Hardly any wait time. Got in next day.

  • January 18, 2023

This individual should not be serving children. Very bad experience. Needs training on how to interact with children and respond to the needs of children. In addition, when asked about treatment, the doctor specified, the is no treatment. I did not ask for a cure, I asked for treatment, which he did not seem to know the difference.

  • January 18, 2023

The nurse who came in before the doctor.

  • January 17, 2023

Such a frustrating experience with the desk staff. I’m glad the doctor was great and polite, so the whole visit wasn’t entirely terrible.

  • January 11, 2023

The front desk was professional and helpful.
