• How do Dysport® injections work?

  Dysport® works by targeting the underlying muscles that cause wrinkles. It is injected into the area of concern and works to block the nerve signals that cause the muscles to contract.

• How are Dysport® injections administered?

  A fine needle is used to inject a small amount of Dysport® into targeted areas. Patients experience minimal discomfort in the form of a slight pinch. No anesthetic is necessary, and you can continue enjoying your everyday activities immediately following the procedure.

• When will I notice the difference, and how long will it last?

  Results from Dysport® usually take 2 to 3 days to become noticeable and can last about three or four months. Dysport® treatments for hyperhidrosis can last for 4-6 months.

• What happens as Dysport® treatment begins to wear off?

  After three to four months (longer for hyperhidrosis treatments), the effects of Dysport® cosmetics begin to wear off, and wrinkles reappear, though often not as deep or visible as they were prior to treatment. In order to sustain smooth skin and a youthful look, repeat injections are required, but the duration between treatments usually lengthens, and the amount of Dysport® used may decrease.

• Is there any downtime from Dysport® injections?

  No, patients usually return to their jobs and normal activities immediately. However, it is recommended that you avoid exercise, heavy lifting, and massaging the injected area for one day. Exercising and massaging the injection area can cause Dysport® to migrate from the injection site.

  The most common side effects are localized swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection site.
