ARC Bariatric Surgery Program
Bariatric surgery is a procedure that changes the size of your stomach to assist with weight loss and meet health goals. Our bariatric surgery team, led by Marco Vinicio Medina-Zea, MD, FACS, FASMBS, has undergone extensive training, including Si/Xi robotic surgery certification, and performed hundreds of surgeries throughout the last five years. With the support of registered dietitians, we work with you before and after surgery to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
You can view our free, educational bariatric surgery webinar at your convenience. If you are interested in learning more or pursuing bariatric surgery, visit our website or call 512-421-4408.

The ARC South Medical Campus, seen below, provides a comprehensive selection of primary, specialty, and surgical care services. It includes ARC South 1st Pediatrics, ARC South 1st, ARC South Specialty, and ARC Surgery Center South.
ARC South Specialty and ARC Surgery Center South will open this spring. If your doctor or advanced practice clinician (APC) is moving to our new ARC South Specialty clinic, you will receive a notification by email or mail, and additional reminders via text, email, letter, or phone.

ARC Medical Aesthetics rebrands to OLINO Medical Aesthetics by ARC
For many years ARC Medical Aesthetics has shared its space with ARC Dermatology Southwest. This spring, both practices will move to the new ARC South Specialty clinic, each with its own dedicated lobby, and both still led by Steven Rasmussen, MD, FAAD. At that time, ARC Medical Aesthetics will officially become OLINO Medical Aesthetics by ARC. The name is inspired by the Hawaiian word “ōlino,” meaning “to shine brightly” or “to shine with splendor.” For more information about our services visit OLINOmedicalaesthetics.com.

Allow for extra check-in time at your next visit
On February 26, we updated the consent section of our Patient Information sheet, and we are asking all patients to review and sign it at check-in. Please give yourself extra time when arriving at your next appointment to prepare for this extra step. Thank you for understanding.

Allergy season in Central Texas
Are you experiencing allergy symptoms like nasal congestion, runny nose, or red, itchy eyes? It's important to talk to your doctor or advanced practice clinician (APC) about the best way to determine the cause and manage your health during peak allergy season and beyond. ARC Allergy specialists can recommend allergy testing and prescribe medications such as allergy shots or allergy drops to help alleviate your symptoms.
Patients can schedule an appointment with an ARC doctor or APC through ARC MyChart, or by calling 512-272-4636.

Extended hours for mammograms
ARC Far West offers early morning, evening, and weekend mammography screening availability for patients who aren’t able to come in during regular clinic hours.
The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that average-risk women begin receiving mammograms at age 40. If you meet the screening recommendations, book your mammogram online or through ARC MyChart.
