About Karina L. Rea, PA-C

  • Karina Rea only sees patients for illness and injury. Patients should always follow up with their primary care physician (PCP).

Karina Rea was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, and at age 12, moved to Seguin in Central Texas. In her free time, she loves spending time with her daughter and husband. Photography has always been one of her passions, capturing the essence of memories on film. Mrs. Rea also enjoys spending time outdoors, exercising with her camp gladiator family, and attending church services. One of her favorite area venues is the McKenna Children’s Museum in New Braunfels, where she takes her daughter, and says, “the opportunity to watch her exploring and learning new concepts while having fun is one of my most pleasurable experiences.”

Growing up, I had several health conditions that made me realize I wanted to have the knowledge to care for myself and my family. My parents worked hard to provide the best possible care for my brother and me, which motivated me to pursue a career in health care to one day provide the same exceptional care for my own family and others. I believe in treating others as I myself would want to be treated. This allows me to provide care with empathy and compassion. Providing positive patient experiences is one of my highest priorities in delivering optimal patient care.

ARC staff were so kind during my visit - I appreciate getting seen and care on short notice. The only dislike was sitting in the tiny room alone for so long, mostly because you’re not sure what’s going on.

Doctor addressed all my issues. Prescribed steroids one type and then changed it to another given the symptoms. Pharmacy offered me to take both types of steroids, I was like “wouldn’t I overdose if I take both steroid medications” . According to the pharmacy both were showing active. I called the clinic and addressed that I was offered both types of steroids and to take them both, Arc nurse clarified it’s just one I need to take. Were I to not pay attention to the doctors’ instructions and the pharmacy would give me both medicine not sure what conversion we would be having for right now. I also developed new symptoms, fever now but arc nurse over the phone, who was exceptional, stated take steroids and we’ll go from there. Steroids helped likely. Again, nurse and doctor were great just be careful when changing medicine please. Some of us are more ignorant than others and don’t pay attention like I did this time and would end up taking both. Not sure if office or pharmacy glitch. Thanks for your care Dr. Karina!

My only complaint was I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time before being seen.

The nurse practitioner wasn't exactly sure what was wrong with me, but she ordered blood and urine tests to find out. She ordered the tests stat since I had been throwing up for 8 days. I received results and antibiotics the same day.
