When is snoring not just snoring?
February 26, 2020
“Snoring can be a sign of a serious condition called obstructive sleep apnea, OSA,” said Dr. John “Caleb” Simmons, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) physician at ARC South 1st Specialty and Pediatrics when discussing obstructive sleep apnea on this recent ARC Healthcare Minute.
“Obstructive sleep apnea can cause daytime sleepiness,” explains Dr. Simmons. “It can lead to an increased risk of car accidents, heart attack, and stroke when not treated.” Fortunately there are several treatments for OSA, both surgical and non-surgical.
If you would like to make an appointment with Dr. Simmons to discuss snoring and sleep apnea, you can do so online or by calling ARC South 1st Specialty and Pediatrics at 512-443-1311.
