The most common cancer in the US is skin cancer. There are about 3.5 million cases of basal and squamous cell skin cancers diagnosed in this country each year, more than all other cancers combine.
ARC dermatologist Dr. Maria Josefina (Josephine) Quintanilla-Dieck discusses the causes and, more importantly, the prevention of skin cancer Monday morning on the ARC Healthcare Minute on KLBJ News Radio.
Dr. Quintanilla-Dieck’s advice? The most important thing you can do to prevent skin cancer is “protect yourself from the sun,” which includes wearing sunscreen.
