Taking a Collaborative Approach

Austin Regional Clinic is pleased to announce that Jerett A. Zipin, D.OSports & Musculoskeletal Medicine physician, has joined the team at ARC Kelly Lane.

Dr. Zipin says that although he grew up in a family of physicians, he originally thought he might like to become an architect. But, he says, “After several tennis injuries in college and spending much of my free time as a patient, I decided to volunteer in a Physical Therapy facility and Emergency Room. Architecture quickly took a back seat to medicine and I found a true passion in Sports Medicine.”

We Are All Athletes

Dr. Zipin says, “I believe we are all athletes, whether your goals are to run an ultra-marathon or just walk around with your grandkids, pain free.” Of his approach to practicing medicine he says, “I have learned that the injuries might not always be unique but the patient and their situation are always individual. I believe in listening to the patient’s goals and needs, and taking a collaborative approach when it comes to deciding what the most appropriate treatment is.”

When asked to share his favorite health tip, Dr. Zipin says, “Exercise truly is medicine and I recommend trying to fit in daily activity not only for your physical well-being, but your mental, emotional health and longevity as well.”

Dr. Zipin, who grew up in Massachusetts, enjoys triathlons, hiking, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and toddler son. Although relatively new to Central Texas, Dr. Zipin’s favorite Central Texas locale is “anywhere there is good barbeque!”
