Improved health one change at a time
August 18, 2020
Austin Regional Clinic is pleased to announce that Khranasa “Nesa” Mohebpour MD, Family Medicine physician, has joined the team at ARC Wilson Parke.
Dr. Mohebpour says, “I chose Family Medicine because I wanted the opportunity to take care of patients throughout the life cycle. I am really passionate about primary care and I value preventive health, patient education, and long lasting relationships with patients.” She adds that her particular areas of interest within Family Medicine include, “Women's health, mindfulness, and integrative and holistic medicine.”
Prevention, prevention, prevention
When discussing her philosophy of medicine, Dr. Mohebpour says, “Prevention, prevention, prevention!” She explains, “It is easier to prevent health conditions from developing than it is to try and manage or cure them. Small steps can go a long way when it comes to health behavior change, and consistency is key. It is better to try and make one change at a time and make sure it is sustainable rather than to try and change several things at once and be unable to maintain those changes.”
Dr. Moehbpour shares this tip with all her patients, “Move your body in an enjoyable way, as often as you can. Physical activity and exercise is one of the most important ways to manage stress, keep your body strong, and prevent the top chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Make it fun and keep it interesting by trying new things.”
This Houston native says, “Some of my favorite central Texas spots include the Barton Creek/Zilker Park areas, Lake Travis, Mozart’s Coffee Roasters, Mandola's Italian Kitchen, and my old stomping grounds on the UT Campus. Hook 'Em Horns!”
