Honoring our veterans – a message from ARC

Monday, November 11, we celebrate Veterans Day, the day we Americans set aside to honor all the men and women who have served and are serving our country in uniform, in many venues and in many ways. We don’t know them all, but we owe them all.

Our nation’s veterans represent the best of America and have for generations, answering the call to defend our country and our freedom. They make tremendous sacrifices by leaving their families to serve throughout the homeland and in combat and humanitarian operations worldwide. The Veterans Administration estimates that there are more than 18.2 million veterans in the U.S. and 1.6 million in Texas, including more than 250,000 living among us in Central Texas. Their service makes the world a better place.

Among those are employees of our organization, and it is our privilege to recognize and thank them and their families, along with all others who serve and have served. Thank you.

Veterans Day is a day to salute the spirit of the American service member, from the oldest to the men and women currently serving our nation, and their families. It is also a day to honor the memory of those who faithfully served our country and now rest in peace.

November is National Veterans and Military Families Month. All Americans should acknowledge and honor the service, sacrifices, and contributions of veterans and military families for what they have done and what they do every day to keep us free.

Join us in thanking the veterans you know, not only this Veterans Day, but every day. Those five words – Thank you for your service – will mean so much.
