Helping People Hear and Communicate

Austin Regional Clinic is happy to announce that Michelle A. Carter AuD, Audiologist, has joined the team at ARC South 1st Specialty. Dr. Carter joins Audiologist Dr. Amy R. Mullin at the clinic to provide expanded Audiology services.

Explaining why she was drawn to audiology, Dr. Carter says, “Ever since I attended a deaf magnet middle school I have been drawn to help those with hearing loss.” She continues, “My passion is helping people hear and communicate to their full potential.”

Dr. Carter says that her approach to treating patients is customized for each person. She says, “Individualized care is very important to me. Everyone’s hearing loss and lifestyle is different so I believe their care should be tailored individually to fit their goals.”

The Importance of Annual Hearting Tests

When asked for her advice for patients, Dr. Carter says, “Yearly hearing tests are important in order to detect hearing loss as early as possible. For both children and adults, the sooner you detect hearing loss the better outcome you will have with communication and hearing rehabilitation/habilitation.”

Originally from Sugarland, Texas, Dr. Carter likes to keep busy in her free time. She tells us that she likes, “hiking with my husband and dog, trying new restaurants, traveling, gardening, and cooking!”
