Going to ACL? Don’t Forget Your Earplugs
October 04, 2019
When we are exposed to harmful noise—sounds that are too loud or loud sounds that are too long—sensitive structures in our inner ear can be damaged, causing noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL).
“Noise-induced hearing loss is usually painless, progressive, and (almost) always permanent,” says Dr. Amy R. Mullin, Audiologist at ARC South 1st Specialty. But, she adds, “The good news is that it is 100% preventable!” In this recent podcast, Dr. Mullin discusses hearing loss and the steps you can take to protect your hearing from loud noises in the environment, including concerts like ACL.
If you suspect that you are experiencing hearing loss, contact Dr. Mullin at ARC South 1st Specialty. Call 512-443-1311 or go online to make an appointment.
