Get Your Blood Pressure Under Control

The First Step is to Know Your Number

Nearly one in three adults in the U.S. has high blood pressure (also called hypertension), and many may go for years without knowing they have the disease because often it has no signs or symptoms. That’s why ARC joined the Measure Up/Pressure Down (MU/PD) campaign along with Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and other leading providers around the country. MU/PD is a national campaign that encourages adults to measure, monitor, and maintain their blood pressure.

Dr. Anas Daghestani, medical director of population health at Austin Regional Clinic, discusses the importance of controlling high blood pressure on KLBJ News Radio Monday morning on the ARC Healthcare Minute. Dr. Daghestani says he recommends that all Central Texans “know their number.”

Hear Dr. Daghestani discuss blood pressure and its health ramifications; tune into the ARC Healthcare Minute on KLBJ News Radio 590AM/99FM this Monday, June 15, at 7:29 am and 8:29 am.
