Caring for the whole patient, not just a single problem
September 01, 2020
Austin Regional Clinic is pleased to announce that David I. Wartenberg, MD, Family Medicine, has joined the team at ARC Far West. “I chose family medicine because it allows me to care for the whole patient, not just a single problem,” says Dr. Wartenberg. “It allows me to manage all of their problems that are within the scope of my practice, and to refer them to specialists as the need arises.”
Providing continuity of care and connectedness is important to Dr. Wartenberg. He says, “The most important part of all of this is helping the patient put all of the pieces together, to help them understand things and to help relieve their anxiety. My philosophy of practice is to treat my patients as I would treat my family, and with that as a guide, I feel I am doing right by them.”
Identifying deficiencies and excesses
Dr. Wartenberg says he has a special interest in identifying the presence of and treatment of vitamin and nutritional deficiencies and minimizing multiple medications to prevent uncomfortable and dangerous adverse drug reactions interactions.
In his free time, Dr. Wartenberg enjoys exploring Austin. He says, “We are hiking the trails, enjoying the outdoors, and are looking forward to the return of the amazing music scene in Austin.” Dr. Wartenberg and his wife love animals and have three rescue dogs.
