ARC has been selected as the Outstanding Community Advocate for 2019 by the Championship Hearts Foundation, and was given a special award at CHF’s recent gala on Saturday, February 16.

ARC has participated in the CHF Youth Heart Screenings each year since 2011 by hosting the events in various ARC clinics, including ARC Wilson Parke, ARC Southwest, ARC Cedar Park, and ARC Round Rock. CHF offers free student heart screenings open to students age 14-18, to help prevent deaths from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, a serious heart condition that is the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young athletes.

In presenting the award, CHF Executive Director Michelle Garcia said “Your frequent hosting of and continued referral for the free heart screenings to your pediatric patients have made a tremendous impact on the Austin metro population. From 2011-2018 more than 1900 active teens have received cardiac screenings in your facilities, with 123 referred for potential serious conditions. Truly you are an outstanding community advocate. Congratulations to Team ARC!”
