ARC is now offering an in-house COVID-19 test

Austin Regional Clinic has begun performing a COVID-19 test with a 1-2 day turnaround time at most ARC clinics and all Drive-Up/Curbside test sites. The test is collected and resulted at ARC, and results are usually available in 1-2 days.

This test is a PCR, or molecular, test which has better than 95% sensitivity/specificity, meaning very accurate results. It is a diagnostic test which can show if you have an active coronavirus infection, which will let you know if you should take steps to quarantine or isolate yourself from others. And the best news is that the sample is collected with a nasal swab, not nasal pharyngeal swab, which is not nearly as uncomfortable for most patients.

Who can get a COVID-19 test at ARC?

Any new or established patient can be tested for COVID-19 at ARC, but all patients must have an order from an ARC physician. COVID Vaccine Update: Austin Regional Clinic Vaccinates First Responders; Launches Website for Vaccine Requests

December 30, 2020 — Austin Regional Clinic began vaccinating community first responders yesterday afternoon. Fire trucks from Austin Fire Department lined up at ARC headquarters full of firefighters ready to be vaccinated. ARC expects to vaccinate other regional fire departments and area police departments as well as other first responder groups over the next several weeks. They are also continuing to vaccinate and book appointments with healthcare workers. 

First shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations arrive at ARC Wednesday, December 23
