November 12, 2016
“The idea of eating healthy can be overwhelming, but here is one easy way to eat a little healthier,” advises Dr. Merlin J. Abraham, Family Medicine physician at ARC Pflugerville. “Think about portion size!” Dr. Abraham wants you to know about this, and some other simple tricks to use that can help you eat a little healthier.
In this recent segment of the ARC Healthcare Minute on KLBJ New Radio 590AM/99FM, (now available on podcast) Dr. Abraham details how to judge portion size using just your hand, and gives some great tips on how to prevent overeating at restaurants. She also tells her listeners to “skip the soda!” Dr. Abraham explains that “One 12-ounce soda has about 9-12 teaspoons of sugar, which is more sugar than you should have in one day.”
If you would like to get more sensible and down-to-earth health tips, call Dr. Abraham for an appointment at ARC Pflugerville at 512-989-2680. You can also make an appointment online.
