Walk and Walk More Says ARC’s Newest Family Physician

Austin Regional Clinic is pleased to announce that Alireza Ebneshahidi, MDFamily Medicine physician, has joined the team at ARC Southwest.

“I do really consider myself from the world,” says Dr. Ebneshahidi, when discussing where he was born and where he has lived. “I was born in Iran and moved to Canada in early ‘90s.” He has also lived in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and California, before settling in Austin, TX, with his family.

When asked why he chose medicine as a career, Dr. Ebneshahidi says, “I chose Family Medicine because I enjoy the patients’ diversity in terms of age range and medical conditions.” Dr. Ebneshahidi adds, “My focus is to provide patient-centered and evidence-based primary care services emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.”

In his spare time, Dr. Ebneshahidi says he loves hiking, swimming, and spending time with his family. He particularly enjoys Austin’s greenbelts and hiking trails.

Asked about his go-to health tip for everyone, Dr. Ebneshahidi says, “Walk and walk more; as much as your time and your stamina allow you, and then build up on the duration and the intensity of it!”
