Dr. Weiwei Cao - Gastroenterology

Tailoring Care for Individual’s Needs

Austin Regional Clinic is pleased to announce that that Weiwei Cao, MD, PhD, Gastroenterologist, has joined the team at ARC Far West Medical Tower and ARC South 1st Specialty.

Dr. Cao comes to Austin by way of California and China. She attended graduate and medical school in California, and moved to Austin three years ago. Dr. Cao says “I choose a career in medicine because I enjoy understanding and helping people. I also love the fact that in medicine, scientific innovations continuously empower physicians to cure diseases that were hard to manage in the past.”

She adds, “My approach to practicing is very simple: Listen carefully, examine thoroughly, and then act in a way that tailors care as much as possible to an individual’s needs.”

“Our family has lived in Austin for three years and we have fallen in love with this city.” Dr. Cao adds, “Zilker Park is one of our favorite spots in Austin. There is so much to do for the whole family: the playground, the train, swimming in Barton Springs pool; and they have fantastic events such as the Kite Festival.”

Dr. Cao’s health tip for her patients? “Heartburn can often be controlled by lifestyle modifications such as avoiding: smoking, fatty meals, caffeine, chocolate, peppermint, overeating, and eating before bedtime.”

To request an appointment with Dr. Cao, call ARC Far West Medical Tower at 512-346-8888 or ARC South 1st Specialty, 512-443-1311.
