Prevention is Key for this ARC Physician

Austin Regional Clinic is pleased to announce that Shane C. Constable, MD, Family Medicine physician, has joined the team at ARC Kyle Plum Creek.

Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Constable is now happily ensconced in Central Texas. “My grandfather was also a General Practitioner in Jamaica and he was a major influence in my life,” Dr. Constable says of his choice to become a Family Medicine physician. He adds, “I decided that I wanted to help people, specifically those who were afflicted by illness and the underserved, so that they are able to focus on their other important life events.”

Preventive Care with an Emphasis on Prevent

Dr. Constable shares that his approach to practicing medicine focuses a lot on prevention. He says, “I enjoy participating in preventive care to avoid long-term problems. In addressing acute or chronic problems, I like creating sensible and efficient ways of comprehensively dealing with problems the first time.”

Not surprisingly, his favorite health tip is “Prevention is better than cure! Coming in for your annual physicals helps to cut down on chronic problems in the long-term and also gives the patient a chance to ask medical questions face-to-face.”

In his free time, Dr. Constable enjoys watching and playing soccer, exploring new restaurants, and road trips. His favorite restaurant so far?  Chuy’s!

To make an appointment with Dr. Constable, go online or call ARC Kyle Plum Creek at 512-295-1333.

Welcome to Austin Regional Clinic, Dr. Constable!
