Tracy Sowada, APN - Extensivist Medicine

Paying Attention to the Person Behind the Patient

Austin Regional Clinic welcomes Tracy L. Sowada, RN, CNS, APN, joining the Extensivist Medicine team as an Advanced Practice Nurse at ARC Pflugerville.

Tracy comes to Austin by way of Louisiana; she says “I have been in Texas ever since I was 7 years old! I stayed in Texas for my education, including going to UT School of Nursing, and moved to Austin in 2000.”

Her interest in health care started in high school, when she took Biology AP and Anatomy & Physiology. Tracy says “I was fascinated by the intricacy, the incredible fragility, and amazing strength of the human body. I am eager to share my fascination with my patients.”

“I strongly believe in partnering with my patients,” says Tracy regarding her philosophy of patient care. “I love to hear people’s stories; get to know them and their families, and to understand their goals for their care. I believe for healthcare to be effective, patients must understand and agree with the goals of their care.”

Tracy sums up her health philosophy with a quote from the World Health Organization; “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Please join us in welcoming Tracy to the ARC team!
